PCIA board - oversees all committees. Defined in the bylaws.
PCIA executive committee: Per bylaws, made up of officers, currently Oct. 2008 Todd, Alan, Jon, and Kaija)
Scholarship: oversees administration and application/selection process of scholarships Glenn Pinson (chair) Alan Jolley Will Friday
Educational Director, chairs Education Committee: sits on both committees below; conduit to the board, reports directly to the board, breaks tie votes in sub committees. In consultation w/ committee members the EC chooses education committee members and the program coordinators. CHOSEN BY THE BOARD JT
Education Committee consists of these two committees: Outdoor Program sub committee, ideally made up of five members (voting body, makes decisions on all PCIA outdoor programs; subject to BOD oversight)

Program Coordinator Responsibilities • Aid the ED in staff development in their discipline. • Help the ED in the development of program structure, prerequisites, and course curricula. • Help the ED to define examination and certification standards for that discipline. • Develop discipline-specific instructional materials. • Advise the ED in the selection of Instructor Candidates. • Mentor, monitor and evaluate instructor pool. • Final qualifier of instructors
Notes: Program coordinators should expect: Emphasize volunteer nature, and need to travel. Work in future evolution as paid position Work in evolution where educational and executive sides both report to BOD with equal lateral authority.
